Regulation and safety of funds

Eightcap was founded in Melbourne in 2009 and holds six licences across its group. Eightcap Pty Ltd is licensed by ASIC (AFSL 391441), Eightcap Group Ltd by the UK FCA (FRN 921296) and Eightcap EU Ltd by CySEC (licence 246/14, granted in 2014). Clients elsewhere are onboarded to Eightcap Global Limited under the Securities Commission of the Bahamas (SIA-F220), Eightcap International Ltd under the Seychelles FSA (SD100) or Eightcap International Trading under the Mauritius FSC (GB25204603). Client money is held in segregated accounts at every entity. UK clients are covered by the FSCS and EU clients by the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund, and both get negative balance protection by law; Australian retail clients also receive negative balance protection under ASIC's product intervention rules. The Bahamas, Seychelles and Mauritius entities offer higher leverage but no statutory compensation, so check which entity appears on your client agreement before funding.

Fees and spreads

Eightcap runs two pricing models on every platform. The Standard account is commission-free with EUR/USD and GBP/USD from 1.0 pip. The Raw account quotes EUR/USD from 0.0 pips and GBP/USD from 0.1 pips with a commission of $3.50 per standard lot per side, or GBP 2.25 and EUR 2.75 for accounts in those currencies; ForexBrokers.com measured an average Raw EUR/USD spread of 0.06 pips in 2026. Gold is quoted from 1.2 pips (12 cents) on both accounts, and Bitcoin from 270 points, with live tests showing spreads of about $12 to $15. Share CFDs carry a commission on both account types. There are no deposit fees, and withdrawals by card, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and wire are free from Eightcap's side. The global site lists no inactivity fee, although some review sites report a charge of 10 units of base currency after three months of inactivity on certain entities. Swap-free Islamic accounts are available.

Platforms and tools

Eightcap does not build its own platform and instead offers four third-party options. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 cover automated trading with Expert Advisors and the full library of custom indicators. TradingView is integrated for direct execution: you log in through TradingView's Trading Panel and place orders on Eightcap pricing while using TradingView's charts, community indicators and Pine Script, which earned DayTrading.com's Best TradingView Broker award in 2025. TradeLocker, a newer web and mobile platform with 100+ indicators, chart trading and a built-in position-size calculator, is offered in selected regions. Execution averages about 48 milliseconds on Eightcap's figures. Research tools are limited to an economic calendar, market insights and the Knowledge Hub; there is no Autochartist, Trading Central or copy-trading service, which puts Eightcap behind the larger brokers on analysis and social features.

Deposits and withdrawals

The minimum deposit is $100 or the equivalent on both Standard and Raw accounts. Visa and Mastercard deposits are free, instant and capped at $20,000 per transaction, while PayPal is free and instant up to $4,000. Wire transfers take one to five business days and may carry bank fees, BPAY is available to Australian clients in AUD with a $50,000 limit, and Skrill and Neteller accept USD, EUR (EEA only) and CAD up to $50,000. Accounts can be held in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD, CAD or SGD. Withdrawals return to the original funding method and are free from Eightcap: cards take two to five business days, PayPal one to five, Skrill and Neteller one business day, and wire transfers one to five business days with a $25 or EUR 20 minimum. Every request is reviewed by the finance team first, which can add one to two business days, so plan withdrawals ahead of deadlines.

Customer support

Support is available 24 hours a day, five days a week through live chat on the website and by email at [email protected], with regional teams in Melbourne, London, Limassol, Nassau, Mahe and Ebene; there is no published support phone number. The Knowledge Hub and FAQ handle common platform and funding questions. Reputation data is harder to read than usual because Trustpilot has removed Eightcap's TrustScore for a breach of its guidelines, leaving almost 3,900 reviews visible without a headline rating. Reading those reviews, satisfied clients cite fast withdrawals and TradingView execution, while complaints focus on login failures, slippage on volatile crypto and index CFDs, and accounts closed for drawdown limits under Eightcap's prop-style challenge products, where some traders dispute the calculations used.

Who is it for

Eightcap is a good match for chart-driven traders who live in TradingView and want to execute forex, index, gold and crypto CFDs directly from it, and for crypto CFD traders who want a broad list of altcoin pairs with tight raw pricing. Australians, Britons and EU residents get a top-tier regulated entity with compensation cover, and the Raw account is competitive with the best ECN brokers on cost. It suits scalpers and EA users on MT4 and MT5 too. It is a weaker choice for traders who want copy trading, deep research tools or a large stock CFD list, for anyone who needs support by phone, and for global clients who would prefer a strongly regulated entity to a Bahamas or Seychelles licence.

Good to know before you start

Why you have to verify your identity

Why you have to verify your identity

Every regulated broker and exchange must confirm who you are before you can trade or withdraw. Expect to upload a passport or national ID and a proof of address under three months old (utility bill or bank statement). Most platforms approve documents within a few hours; a mismatch between your ID and the name on your payment method is the most common reason for delays.

How funding your account works

How funding your account works

Deposits by card or e-wallet usually land within minutes; bank wires take one to three business days and may carry a fee from your bank. Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, which is an anti-money-laundering rule rather than a platform choice. Start with the minimum, confirm a small withdrawal works, then scale up.

What to expect on your first trade

What to expect on your first trade

Open a demo account first if the platform offers one, then place a small live trade on a liquid market such as EUR/USD or BTC/USD. Check the spread, the commission and the swap before you confirm. Set a stop-loss on every position — losing a small amount quickly is the cheapest lesson in trading.
