What clients complain about

  • Trustpilot rates XS.com 3.9 out of 5 across 403 reviews, with a healthier shape than the number suggests: 49% five-star and 36% four-star against 9% one-star.
  • Positive reviews consistently name responsive customer support, the range of funding options, tight spreads and high leverage.
  • The one-star minority is specific: withdrawals delayed beyond the published times, payouts split into several transfers rather than paid as one, account freezes, and restrictions on particular withdrawal methods.
  • XS replies to complaints within about a day and asks for account details to investigate.

Regulation and safety of funds

XS Group publishes its licence list in full, which is more than most brokers of its size manage. XS Prime Ltd is regulated by ASIC in Australia (374409), XS Markets Ltd by CySEC in Cyprus (412/22), XS ZA (Pty) Ltd by the FSCA in South Africa (53199), XS Ltd by the Seychelles FSA (SD089), XS Finance Ltd by the Labuan FSA in Malaysia (MB/21/0081), XS Trade Services Ltd by the Mauritius FSC (GB25204786) and XS United under a Kuwaiti licence (513918).

The UAE arm is where the honesty stands out. XSTRADE Financial Consultation L.L.C holds UAE licence 20200000339 as a promoter and introducer, and the group states plainly on its own site that the company is not authorised to hold client funds or provide trading services, and that all trading accounts sit with another regulated entity in the group. Plenty of brokers hold exactly this kind of licence and market it as though it were a brokerage licence; XS says what it is. The practical rule is still the usual one: an ASIC or CySEC account carries compensation cover and regulatory leverage caps, while an account with the Seychelles company offers 1:2000 and neither.

Fees and spreads

The entry accounts are genuinely free to open: Standard, Cent and Micro all have no minimum deposit and average around 1.1 pips on EUR/USD with no commission. Pro asks $500 and averages 0.7 pips, also with no commission — a commission-free 0.7 pips is competitive against raw-spread accounts once you add their per-lot charges, and it removes the arithmetic from cost comparison. Pro runs a zero stop level with a 40% margin call and a 20% stop out, and up to ten Pro accounts per client.

Non-trading costs are light: XS charges no internal fee on deposits or withdrawals and covers the payment provider's charges. The exception is worth knowing before you fund — a withdrawal fee of up to 3% can apply where the account has had no trading activity, or where the company identifies conduct in breach of the client agreement. Swap-free accounts are available.

Platforms and tools

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 across desktop, web and mobile. There is no proprietary terminal and no cTrader, so the platform question comes down to whether MetaTrader suits you. MT5 carries the fuller product set, including futures and share CFDs, while MT4 covers the core currency, metal, crypto, energy and index range.

Copy trading is built in through dedicated Copy Standard and Copy Pro accounts on MT5, priced at 1.1 and 0.7 pips respectively and limited to currencies plus gold and silver. Around the platforms sit dynamic leverage, published contract specifications, swap-rate tables, an economic calendar, courses and ebooks — a well-organised resource set rather than a token education page.

Deposits and withdrawals

Funding runs through Visa and Mastercard from $20, Skrill and Neteller from $15, and bank transfer from $300, in EUR, USD and GBP. Cards and e-wallets credit instantly; bank transfers take one to seven working days. XS does not charge an internal fee on any of them and absorbs the payment service provider's cost, which is unusual and worth something on small, frequent deposits.

Withdrawals are the weak point in public reviews. The recurring complaint is not refusal but friction: payouts split into several transfers rather than paid as one, delays beyond the published times, and occasional restrictions on specific withdrawal methods. XS replies to complaints within about a day and asks for account details to investigate, so disputes get engaged with rather than ignored.

Customer support

Support runs 24/5 through live chat and the regional desks behind the group's localised sites, in English, Arabic, Portuguese and other languages. Responsiveness is the single most praised thing in the broker's reviews, which is not something most brokers can say.

The group is also visible rather than anonymous: it publishes its entity list, contract specifications, swap tables and legal documents, and runs an events and awards programme. For a broker without a household name, that transparency does a lot of the reassurance work.

Track record and reputation

XS.com was established in Australia in 2010 and has grown into a multi-entity group with licences across seven jurisdictions. No regulator has published a warning against it.

Trustpilot rates it 3.9 out of 5 across 403 reviews, and the shape of that score is healthier than the number suggests: 49% five-star and 36% four-star, against 9% one-star. That is a broad band of satisfied users rather than the polarised split many brokers show. The one-star minority is consistent and specific — withdrawals delayed or split into parts, and occasional account freezes.

Who is it for

XS.com suits traders who want a commission-free account with tight average spreads, no minimum to start, and a licence they can actually check — ASIC or CySEC if they live in the right place, and a clearly named entity if they do not. The Cent and Micro accounts make it a sensible place to test a strategy with small size.

It is a weaker fit if you want a platform beyond MetaTrader, a raw-spread account with per-lot commission, or crypto CFDs on every tier. And if you plan to deposit and withdraw without trading, read the 3% clause first.

Good to know before you start

Why you have to verify your identity

Why you have to verify your identity

Every regulated broker and exchange must confirm who you are before you can trade or withdraw. Expect to upload a passport or national ID and a proof of address under three months old (utility bill or bank statement). Most platforms approve documents within a few hours; a mismatch between your ID and the name on your payment method is the most common reason for delays.

How funding your account works

How funding your account works

Deposits by card or e-wallet usually land within minutes; bank wires take one to three business days and may carry a fee from your bank. Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, which is an anti-money-laundering rule rather than a platform choice. Start with the minimum, confirm a small withdrawal works, then scale up.

What to expect on your first trade

What to expect on your first trade

Open a demo account first if the platform offers one, then place a small live trade on a liquid market such as EUR/USD or BTC/USD. Check the spread, the commission and the swap before you confirm. Set a stop-loss on every position — losing a small amount quickly is the cheapest lesson in trading.

Frequently asked questions

Is XS.com regulated?

Yes, across seven entities. XS Prime Ltd holds an ASIC licence (374409), XS Markets Ltd a CySEC licence (412/22), XS ZA (Pty) Ltd an FSCA licence (53199), XS Ltd a Seychelles FSA licence (SD089), XS Finance Ltd a Labuan licence (MB/21/0081), XS Trade Services Ltd a Mauritius FSC licence (GB25204786) and XS United a Kuwaiti licence (513918). The UAE company is a promoter and introducer only and cannot hold client funds — the group says so itself.

Is XS.com safe to trade with?

It holds tier-1 licences in Australia and Cyprus, publishes its entity list openly and has no regulator warnings against it. Trustpilot rates it 3.9 out of 5 across 403 reviews, with 85% at four or five stars. The caution is the 9% one-star minority, which reports withdrawals delayed or split into multiple payments.

What is the minimum deposit at XS.com?

There is none on the Standard, Cent and Micro accounts. The Pro account, which averages 0.7 pips on EUR/USD with no commission, requires $500. Funding minimums depend on the method: $20 by card, $15 by Skrill or Neteller and $300 by bank transfer.

What does trading cost at XS.com?

Standard, Cent, Micro and Copy Standard average around 1.1 pips on EUR/USD with no commission. Pro and Copy Pro average 0.7 pips, also with no commission. XS charges no internal deposit or withdrawal fee, but a fee of up to 3% can apply to a withdrawal from an account that has not traded.

Which platforms and instruments does XS.com offer?

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop, web and mobile, with no proprietary platform and no cTrader. The product range covers currencies, metals, crypto, energy, indices, and — on MT5 — futures and share CFDs. Copy trading runs through dedicated MT5 accounts limited to currencies, gold and silver.

What leverage does XS.com offer?

Up to 1:2000 with dynamic leverage on the Pro account through the offshore entity, with the tier stepping down as equity grows. Clients onboarded to the ASIC or CySEC entities are capped at the regulatory retail limits instead.
