What clients complain about

  • Trustpilot rates Equiti 3.4 out of 5 across 311 reviews, but the distribution is polarised rather than middling: 54% five-star and 37% one-star.
  • Positive reviews cite fast execution, competitive spreads and helpful onboarding managers.
  • The negative half is dominated by withdrawal functions being disabled or delayed for weeks, accounts restricted or placed on hold without a clear explanation, support inquiries left unanswered, and a handful of reports of profits withheld over alleged latency abuse.
  • Equiti replies to 94% of negative reviews, usually within a week.

Regulation and safety of funds

Equiti is unusual among brokers that market heavily in the Middle East: the licences are real and there are a lot of them. Equiti Capital UK Ltd is authorised by the FCA (FRN 800066), Equiti Global Markets holds a CySEC licence, Equiti Securities Currencies Brokers LLC is licensed by the UAE regulator (20200000026), Equiti Group Limited Jordan by the Jordan Securities Commission, EGM Securities — trading locally as FXPesa — by Kenya's Capital Markets Authority, Equiti Brokerage (Seychelles) Limited by the Seychelles FSA (SD064), and Equiti AM by the Central Bank of Armenia.

That breadth is the point and the catch. A UK client gets FSCS cover to £85,000, a leverage cap of 1:30 and the Financial Ombudsman; an international client onboarded to the Seychelles company gets 1:2000, no compensation scheme and no local ombudsman. Both are Equiti. Before funding, read which company is named on your client agreement, because that single line determines what you are actually buying.

Fees and spreads

Three retail tiers. Classic has no minimum deposit and quotes from 1.6 pips with no commission. Standard needs $30 and quotes from 1.4 pips, also commission-free. Premier needs $100 and is the one worth looking at: spreads from 0.0 pips with $3.50 per lot per side, which is the going rate at IC Markets and Pepperstone and a low bar for raw pricing. A Micro account exists as an add-on for existing clients.

Equiti is not known for punitive non-trading fees, and standard deposit and withdrawal methods are generally free, but the published detail is thinner than at the biggest brokers — inactivity terms in particular vary by entity and are worth confirming in writing before you open. Swap-free accounts are offered at no additional charge.

Platforms and tools

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop and mobile, plus MQ WebTrader in the browser. There is no cTrader, no TradingView integration and no proprietary platform, so what you get is a well-run MetaTrader shop rather than a differentiated terminal. Copy trading is whatever the MetaTrader signals marketplace provides rather than an in-house service.

The instrument range is built around the region it sells to: 60-plus currency pairs including USD/AED, USD/SAR, USD/EGP and USD/JOD, equity indices, metals and energy, share CFDs, ETFs, crypto CFDs and gold option CFDs. If you trade MENA currency crosses, this is a materially better list than a generic offshore broker's.

Deposits and withdrawals

Funding runs through Visa and Mastercard, bank wire, Skrill and Neteller, and local payment options across MENA. Card and e-wallet deposits are usually instant, wires take two to five business days, and standard methods carry no Equiti fee.

Withdrawals are where the complaint volume sits. Public reviews describe withdrawal functions disabled, payouts delayed for weeks, and in a handful of cases profits withheld over alleged latency abuse or policy breaches. Equiti answers 94% of negative reviews, so the disputes are engaged with rather than ignored, but the pattern is consistent enough to plan around: verify early, withdraw to the funding method, and start with a small test payout.

Customer support

Support runs in English and Arabic through live chat, email and regional desks, with physical offices in London, Dubai, Amman and Limassol. For a trader in the Gulf or the Levant, having a local office and a local licence in the same jurisdiction is a real advantage when something goes wrong.

The weakness is speed. Reviewers repeatedly describe slow responses and inquiries left unresolved for weeks, which is the flip side of a group spread across seven entities and as many regulators.

Track record and reputation

Equiti traces back to 2008 and has grown by collecting licences rather than by buying scale — the Jordan, UAE, Kenya and Cyprus entities all arrived between 2018 and 2022. There are no regulator warnings against the group, and the presence of an FCA licence means at least one part of it is supervised to a standard that matters.

Trustpilot tells the other half: 3.4 out of 5 across 311 reviews, but with 54% five-star against 37% one-star, a split that describes two very different customer experiences rather than an average one. The positive half praises execution, spreads and onboarding; the negative half is almost entirely about withdrawals, account restrictions and support latency.

Who is it for

Equiti fits traders in the Middle East and East Africa who want a broker regulated in their own country, MENA currency pairs, Arabic support and a genuinely cheap raw-spread tier at $100 — and UK or EU traders who want an FCA or CySEC account from a group that knows the region.

It is a weaker fit if you want a platform beyond MetaTrader, a built-in copy-trading service, or published fee detail as thorough as the largest brokers provide. And if you are onboarded to the Seychelles entity, judge it as an offshore broker, because that is what it is.

How to open an account

Equiti

Before you apply

Documents required
Government-issued photo ID and a proof of address

Equiti runs seven licensed companies, and which one holds your account decides almost everything about your protection: an FCA or CySEC account carries compensation cover and a leverage cap, while the Seychelles entity offers 1:2000 and neither. Check the company named on your client agreement.

  1. 1.

    Pick the right regional site

Equiti runs separate sites per region — UK, EU, UAE, Jordan, Kenya (as FXPesa) and an international Seychelles entity. The one you land on decides which company you contract with.

  2. 2.

    Register and verify

Sign up with your name, email, phone and country of residence, then upload a government-issued photo ID and a proof of address.

  3. 3.

    Choose an account tier

Classic has no minimum and quotes from 1.6 pips, Standard starts at $30 from 1.4 pips, and Premier starts at $100 with spreads from 0.0 pips and $3.50 per lot per side.

  4. 4.

    Fund the account

Deposit by card, bank transfer, Skrill or Neteller, or through local MENA payment options. Standard methods are generally free.

  5. 5.

    Trade on MetaTrader

Use MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 on desktop and mobile, or the MQ WebTrader in a browser.

Good to know before you start

Why you have to verify your identity

Why you have to verify your identity

Every regulated broker and exchange must confirm who you are before you can trade or withdraw. Expect to upload a passport or national ID and a proof of address under three months old (utility bill or bank statement). Most platforms approve documents within a few hours; a mismatch between your ID and the name on your payment method is the most common reason for delays.

How funding your account works

How funding your account works

Deposits by card or e-wallet usually land within minutes; bank wires take one to three business days and may carry a fee from your bank. Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, which is an anti-money-laundering rule rather than a platform choice. Start with the minimum, confirm a small withdrawal works, then scale up.

What to expect on your first trade

What to expect on your first trade

Open a demo account first if the platform offers one, then place a small live trade on a liquid market such as EUR/USD or BTC/USD. Check the spread, the commission and the swap before you confirm. Set a stop-loss on every position — losing a small amount quickly is the cheapest lesson in trading.

Frequently asked questions

Is Equiti regulated?

Yes, and by more regulators than most. Equiti Capital UK Ltd is FCA-authorised (FRN 800066), Equiti Global Markets holds a CySEC licence, and the group also has licensed entities under the UAE regulator (20200000026), the Jordan Securities Commission, Kenya's Capital Markets Authority (as FXPesa), the Seychelles FSA (SD064) and the Central Bank of Armenia. The protection you get depends entirely on which of those companies your account is with.

Is Equiti safe to trade with?

The group holds tier-1 licences and no regulator has issued a warning against it, which puts it ahead of most brokers that target the same markets. The caution is in the reviews: 37% of Trustpilot ratings are one-star, driven by withdrawal delays, account restrictions and slow support. Test a withdrawal early and keep your verification documents current.

What is the minimum deposit at Equiti?

The Classic account has no minimum. Standard starts at $30 and Premier — the raw-spread tier — at $100. Some regional entities publish different minimums, so check the figure on the site for your country.

Which platforms and instruments does Equiti offer?

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop and mobile, plus MQ WebTrader in the browser. No cTrader, no TradingView and no proprietary platform. Instruments cover 60+ currency pairs including MENA crosses such as USD/AED and USD/JOD, indices, metals and energy, share CFDs, ETFs, crypto CFDs and gold option CFDs.

Does Equiti offer an Islamic account?

Yes. Swap-free accounts are available on the Standard and Premier tiers at no additional charge, with Arabic-language support — one of the reasons the broker is widely used across the Gulf and the Levant.

What leverage does Equiti offer?

Up to 1:2000 on the Classic, Standard and Premier accounts under the Seychelles entity, and 1:500 on Micro. Clients onboarded to the FCA or CySEC entities are capped at the regulatory retail limits instead, which is 1:30 on major currency pairs.
